Volunteer
with
Forever Reef
Volunteers are at the heart of the Forever Reef Project. As a small, mission-driven organisation, we rely on passionate community members to help preserve coral biodiversity and protect the future of the Great Barrier Reef.
We offer meaningful opportunities across coral care, education, and community engagement — and we welcome people from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skill sets who share our commitment to reef conservation.

Our Volunteer
Intake Process
To ensure the best possible training experience and strong team connection, we welcome new volunteers through scheduled group intakes rather than individual onboarding.
At times our volunteer program may be at capacity. We are continually working to grow our capability and will open new intakes as opportunities become available.
Support the care and maintenance of the Forever Reef coral collection and its life support systems under the guidance of our aquarist team. Ideal for those with a passion for marine biology or aquaculture.
Help deliver engaging visitor experiences, support educational outreach, and promote awareness of reef conservation through events and community engagement. Great for communicators and educators.
