Great Barrier Reef Legacy acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Great Barrier Reef, and their enduring connection to Sea Country.

We pay our respects to the Kuku Yalanji and Yirrganydji Peoples of the Port Douglas region, and to all Traditional Custodians whose Sea Country spans the Reef.

We recognise the deep knowledge, care and custodianship of First Nations Peoples, and are committed to working in genuine partnership to protect and care for coral reefs together.
